How to clean a thermos

To ensure that your thermos continues to perform at its best, it is important to clean it regularly and properly.

First and foremost, before you begin cleaning, make sure you have emptied the thermos of any remaining beverages. Once it is properly emptied, it’s time to start the cleaning process. Here are some steps to follow:

Use warm soapy water:

Fill the thermos with warm water and add a mild dish soap. Let it sit for a few minutes to help loosen any dirt or residue.

Shake and brush:

After allowing the soapy water to work, shake the thermos thoroughly to dislodge any stubborn debris. For hard-to-reach areas, use a soft brush, such as a toothbrush, to scrub the interior.

Rinse thoroughly:

Once you have removed dirt and residue, rinse the thermos thoroughly with clean water to remove all soap residue.

Use vinegar if needed:

If the thermos still has an unpleasant odor or stubborn stains, try soaking it in a solution of water and vinegar (about one part vinegar to three parts water) for a few hours or overnight. After soaking, rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry.

Dry thoroughly:

Once the thermos is clean and rinsed, dry it thoroughly with a clean towel or allow it to air dry with the lid removed to prevent moisture buildup.

By regularly cleaning your stainless steel thermos in this way, you can ensure that it continues to keep your beverages hot or cold in the best possible way and prevent flavors or odors from previous drinks from transferring to new ones.
