Camelbak

Camelbak was founded in 1988 by a cycling enthusiast named Michael Eidson. He was participating in a race called the "Hotter'N Hell 100". It was a grueling race through the summer heat, where the need for water was critical to making it through. The water stations were far apart and it was difficult to stop enough times, so he finally approached the problem from a new angle. If there was no more room for water on the bike, the rider had to carry it. It seemed logical. At the time, however, it was a novel idea. And with this starting point, CamelBak was born.

Today, Camelbak is synonymous with hydration systems. They adhere to the same values of ideas and innovation in developing new products, whether they are bottles, backpacks, drinking vests, etc. Sometimes, it just takes a slight shift in perspective for an object (or solution) to appear in a new light, with sharper focus.

The need – more practical, quicker, and more efficient hydration when active – has not changed throughout CamelBak's history.
