Nokian

Finnish quality with over 100 years of experience!

In 1898, a company named Gummitehdas began manufacturing rubber footwear. The factory was initially located in Helsinki, but due to increasing demand, it was moved to Nokia. From there, the brand name we recognize today as Nokian originated.

After the war, there was a need for high-quality boots in a growing industry in Finland. A lot was developed and tested, but in addition to industrial boots, boots for leisure use were also launched. One of these models was Hai, which is known today as a classic in the current collection.

In 2011, Nokian was no longer produced in Finland but in Eastern Europe. However, even though it is not Finnish hands making the boots, the manufacturing method and rubber mixture follow the old quality recipe.
